Sorry folks, but I had to at least mention it. Somebody toss me a '78 recommendation for the afternoon.

Well, since we were discussing it in a thread here last week, how about 1/22/78?

Other suggestions: 4/16, 7/8 (never gets old), 10/21, 11/24

For one song go to 5.14.78 Let it Grow.

Other than that check out the January 78 show in Eugene OR. The Close Encounters Jam show. The whole thing is magical.

Red Rocks in July is another good call by others here.

Take this real underrated '78 gem (esp. if you can track down the Charlie Miller upgrade):

4/8/78

Spectacular 2nd set, featuring a killer Scarlet>Fire>Estimated>Eyes

also an excellent Half Step, ig River, and LL>Supp. in set 1.

What? You are going to spend the day off listening to the music? I should think it will take the entire day catching up with everything here--who is whom and what did they post when, and did they really post it and should you stay here or should you go and if you go should you come back and which name should you use in either place and if someone becomes you what should you do here which will not necessarily be what you will do there but before even thinking about that make sure that whomever attacks you is really who they say they are because it is terrible to attack an attacker about an attack that might not have even been an attack because how could it be if it really isn't the poster that you thought it was...

Well that might just be too difficult so I will say that SB is probably right and it is best to just listen to 1-22-78.

[not sure why I would edit this but then it probably isn't me so why worry]

Well of course it's you, WT, you tireless keeper of the faith. Who else but the namesake of Switzerland's greatest freedom fighter could be so penetratingly accurate in the deployment of their bolts of wisdom?

If an imposter attacked in the forum, would anyone hear?

Hmmm...and because we post electronically have we only created this entire problem by saving the trees? The trees that now come back to haunt us? Why do you think they call them by such names as "The Wild Wood" and the "Black Forest" and the "Forest of Gloom" and the...well, you get the idea.

Are there any forests on the moon? Of course not--Prophet Jerry tells us there are only mountains. I think we should move this entire operation there so that we can see the posters without the trees and we won't live in mortal fear of a tree falling on us, much less having to hear it crush our frail and calcium depleted bones...

For some odd reason your post reminded me of a comic stip I used to have hanging in my cubicle.

Consultant Hired to analyze code and determine if there are going to be any Y2K issues, after a month the Consultant says something like "Good news, all I found were 1's and 0's so you shouldn't have any issues"

P.S. Listening to 2-5-94 JGB on gdradio and it is really good.

Don't fancy the Moon. It's like Deadhook - no atmosphere.

That is insightful...but, on the strength of the rec's of SDH, Dire and Arbuthnot, I made a recording of most of 1-22-78 for the car (get it--still have my undies in a wad about post 71 so I didn't feel right putting it in THE collection) and it is defn worth a listen now and again.

See? Not all hope is lost on me...
